Live Recalc
Results update on every keystroke. No Calculate button. No waiting. Change an input and the answer is already there.
Reverse Solve
Know the result you need — work backwards to find the input. Pipe sizing, pump selection, structural checks. Solve in any direction.
PDF Export
Stamp-ready calculation sheets with full derivation steps. Formula → substitution → result on every export. Client-ready in one click.
Unit Converter
23 categories, 150+ units. Embedded in every module so you never leave the calc to convert. Also available standalone.
No Internet Required
Runs entirely on your machine. No license server pinging home. No cloud dependency. Works on site, on planes, on air-gapped networks.
Project Files
Save all your calcs as .forge files. Open a project, pick up where you left off. Share the file with a colleague or archive it with the job.

What is Forge Toolbox?
Forge Toolbox is a native desktop application for engineering calculations. It ships 47 calculation modules across mechanical, structural, electrical, civil, process, and fire protection disciplines. Every module recalculates live as you type, exports to PDF, and supports reverse solve. There is no subscription, no cloud account, and no internet connection required after purchase.
Is there a trial?
Yes. The trial version lets you run calculations in every module but restricts PDF export and project save. Upgrade to a paid license at any time to unlock those features — your trial inputs carry over.
What does "one-time" actually mean?
You pay once and the software is yours. The version you buy keeps working indefinitely. One year of updates — bug fixes, new modules, improvements — is included in the purchase price. After year one, continued updates are $19.99/yr, which you can opt into or not. If you skip it, your existing version still works.
Do code cycle updates (AISC, ACI, NEC, etc.) cost extra?
Updates that incorporate new code cycles are delivered as part of the annual update subscription. If you're on active maintenance, you get the updated calcs. If not, your existing version keeps using the code edition it shipped with.
Mac or Windows — is there a difference?
The calculation engine is identical on both platforms. The Windows build ships as a standalone executable. The Mac build is a native app — no Wine, no emulation. Both platforms receive updates on the same schedule.
Can I use this on a firm network or air-gapped machine?
Yes. Forge Toolbox runs entirely offline after installation. License activation requires a one-time internet connection. After that, no network access is needed — ever.
What file format do projects use?
Projects are saved as .forge files — a JSON-based format you can inspect or archive. They're small, version-controllable, and not locked to a proprietary binary.
